Giuseppe Carannante, 74, of Exeter, entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 25, 2024 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Monte Di Procida, Naples, Italy, he came to this country as a young man.
Giuseppe and his brothers were the owners and proprietors of Antonio's Pizza, West Pittston.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gabriel, Liberina and Michael Carannante.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Anna Scotto D'Abbusco and sons Luigi and Daniele Caranannte.
Also surviving are his siblings, Dominic, Assunta, Antonio, Rosetta, Orlando ( Adriana), Pittston, Giuliano ( Assunta), Exeter and Lucia ( Alfonso) Illiano, N.J. along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday from 5-8pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral will be on Wednesday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30am at St. Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 224, Memorial Street, Exeter. The Rev. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J. will be celebrant.
Those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning.
