Antoinette Manganiello Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we mourn our beloved matriarch, Antoinette Marie Manganiello, who passed into her eternal life on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Highland Manor, Exeter.

Antoinette was born in Pittston, the sixth child of Antonio and Philomena Roberti Casagrande.

She was a graduate of St. Cecilia's High School, Class of 1940. In 1946 she married James Manganiello and together they raised their four children in West Pittston, before moving back to her family homestead in Exeter.

Prior to her retiring, she had worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry.

A faithful Catholic, Antoinette was an active member of St. Cecilia's Church, the Parish Choir and Christian Mothers Society and also later at St. Barbara Parish, Exeter. She was the oldest member of the Catholic Choral Society and she enjoyed being a member and attending meetings of the Cosmopolitan Club of Exeter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dominic, Victor, Angelo, Armonde Casagrande, and sister, Mary Lillis.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Atty. Louis Manganiello and his wife, Dorothy, San Antonio, TX; James L. Manganiello, Jr. and his wife, Debra, West Pittston; Ann Manganiello, Exeter and Sharon Weaver and her husband, Dr. Glenn Weaver, Shavertown.
She was Noni to 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren: James Manganiello III,(Kate) and sons, Charlie and Luke; Rachael Manganiello Jones and children Jacob and Jordan; Rebecca Manganiello Sherrill,(Daniel) and children Ryan, Caleb and Emmalyn; Kristen Manganiello, Lauren Weaver Cittone and her husband Lucas, Matthew Manganiello,(Rachel) and Ahri Rose; and Bryan Weaver. She is also survived by brother-in-law Angelo Charles Manganiello, cousins, and she is Aunt Nana to several nieces and nephews.

Antoinette was very proud of her Italian heritage as she made many Italian meals, homemade pastas and cookies. She enjoyed going out, doing puzzles, playing the penny machine at the casino, shopping and playing pinochle. She was spunky, fun, feisty and had a special gift to make people laugh. She was a delight to be with and was so cherished by her family and friends alike.
A very special thank you to the nurses, aids and staff of Highland Manor who treated and cared for her so lovingly.
