Barry Hosier, Sr., 75, formerly of West Pittston, and a resident of Jenkins Twp., passed away on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Edward Aaron and Margaret Williams Hosier.
Barry was a 1967 graduate of Wyoming Area School District and was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a project manager for the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority.
He was a life member of the West Pittston Fire and Ambulance Association where he served as a board member for many years. He was an active volunteer in West Pittston his entire life in multiple organizations and the current president of Wesley Village Brooks Estates Resident Association.
Preceding him in death were his brothers Edward and Carl Hosier.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Grace Palermo and children, Christiana and her husband Kris Kester, Scranton, Barry D. and his wife MarciAnna, West Pittston, Michael Anthony and his wife Kate, Harding, and Jeffery A. Hosier, West Pittston.
Grandchildren: Morgan, Aiden, Hunter, Evan, Ethan, Emma, Darius, Marcyssa, Gavin, and Ella.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday from 4-6pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral will be on Saturday at 9:30am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am at Corpus Christi Parish in Immaculate Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston. The Msgr. John Sempa, pastor. will be celebrant.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Social Concerns Committee at Corpus Christi Parish.
