Billie Jo walker, 48, of Exeter, passed into eternal life on New Year's Day at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital due to many complications associated with diabetes.
She was a wonderful person loved by her husband Richard and son Robert. She had many brothers and sisters to grow up with and support her after she was afflicted with diabetes at age nine. Her family loved her to the moon and back. She had many friends to take care of her and one very special friend was Ettore, her neighbor. Whenever there was dialysis or a doctor appointment he was always there to help when the family couldn't. She also had another special friends over the years, Ruthie O'Dell that spent many hours with and did so much together while she was in the Big Brother Big Sister program. She had a large support base of friends and family to herp her also. Unfortunately, the many years of this disease look its toll on her and there was nothing left to fight with. She will be loved and missed so much by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband of 5 years, Richard Walker, her son Robert Bird, her parents Donald and Norma Wickham Cooper, Exeter and sisters, Sherry Towarnicki and her husband Robert, McDonough, Ga., Jane Parsons, Pittston, twin sister Bobbie Jo Stonier, Tunkhannock, Lisa and Thomas Franklin, Duncan, Ok, brothers Terry Lee Parsons, Donald Cooper and Twila Smith, Tecumseh, Ok, Brian Parsons and Jennifer Tamarro, Pittston, Andrew Cooper, Exeter and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the entire ICU staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley for the wonderful care she received while she was a patient there.
