Charles J. Dente, 73, of West Pittston, passed away on Friday February 5, 2021 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of Mary R. Musto Dente, West Pittston and the late Joseph Dente.
Charles was a 1964 graduate of West Pittston High School and was a member of Corpus Christi Parish at Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston.
He had worked as an electrician at Bridon-American and retired from WVSA. Most recently he worked part time as a driver at the LCTA shared ride program.
He served this valley as a volunteer fireman for many years. He is a lifetime member of the Goodwill Fire Company in West Pittston and served as past fire chief of Maltby Hose Company, Swoyersville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Cotter Dente in April 2020 and his son Joseph Dente.
Surviving in addition to his mother Mary are his daughter Dawn Marie Dente, Luzerne, a sister Marilyn (Richard) Kulesa, Lebanon, N.J. and step children: Diane (Greg) Pocono, Shavertown, Michael (Suzanne) Cotter, Warrenton, VA, Barbara Cotter, Wyoming, Adrienne (Ed) Grippo, Wyalusing, John Cotter, Dallas. Grandchildren Jacqueline (Steven) Billig, Eric (Chrissy) Covert, Shelby and Cara Pocono, 3 great grandchildren, along with numerous cousins, sister in law, Barbara Pazdziorko, Exeter.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday from 9:30am until 11:30 am at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00pm at Corpus Christi Parish in Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston.
The Monsignor John Sempa, pastor, will be celebrant.
