David G. Steve, 74, of Exeter, passed away on Jan 31, 2025 peacefully after a battle with dementia for the last 6 years. He resided at his home with his son Aaron.
David was always outgoing and tried to make everyone smile with his character and wittiness. A day never passed where he didn't ask for his favorite meal, lobster. Dave was an
avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, this is something he loved to share with both his sons.
Dave was thrilled to see the Eagles secure a seat in this year's Super Bowl and his family is certain he will do whatever he can in heaven to arrange a win.
Born December 18, 1950, David was the son of the late George J. and Bernadette T. Kurzyniec Steve.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jerome.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron of Exeter, Ben and his wife Holly, of West Pittston, and David's former wife Gina.
David attended Exeter high school. He was the drummer for The Eighth Street Bridge, The Great Rock Scare and also for Changes and Southern Comfort.
He performed alongside many of his closest friends and thoroughly enjoyed his time as a musician. He was well known by the name "Steve-O", also lovingly known as "the old guy", which
he would swiftly follow up with "who you calling old!"
He owned his own landscaping business for 20 years and later retired from American Asphalt.
Dave will be greatly missed by his loving friends and family and also his best buddy skunky the cat.
All of his friends and loved ones are invited to a viewing on Thursday from 5-7 pm at Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral service will be on Friday at 11am at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Cedar St., Exeter.
The family would like to extend their wholehearted appreciation for the compassionate and unwavering care Hospice of the Sacred Heart and the visiting nurses and aides provided to David at
the end of his Magic Carpet Ride.
