Delia Torregiani Obituary

Delia Torregiani R.N., age 93, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025.

Delia was born on July 3, 1931, and lived her life with a generous heart, always caring for her friends and family. After graduating from Wyoming Memorial High School in 1949 she attended Wilkes Barre General Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN. She later went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at College Misericordia. Delia worked in the emergency room at General Hospital and taught nursing there until it closed. She then taught at Wilkes University. In the early 1970s, she opened and operated a successful Italian food store in Wyoming called La Bottega. Later, she became a Wyoming Area school nurse.

Delia was an avid bowler and sports fan. She loved the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Yankees. She enjoyed monthly Lispi bus trips to Atlantic City with a wonderful group who became dear friends over the years. Many knew Del for her homemade cappelletti, ravioli, and gnocchi. Food was her love language. She was always ready with a bowl of minestrone or homemade pasta. A devout Catholic, she found comfort in saying the rosary daily. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, not just to her family but to generations of family friends, many who called her Aunt Del. She had a great sense of humor and a knack for turning everyday moments into hilarious stories. Delia also had a charming talent for color commentary, which brought countless laughs and fond memories. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ugo and Elena Boldrini Torregiani, her sister Antoinette Mackey, and her brothers in law Raymond Mackey and Gerald Ragantesi.

She is survived by her sister, Ellyn Ragantesi of Wyoming; her nieces Barbara Bullions (Robert) of Wyoming, Lisa Ragantesi of Philadelphia, and Elena Silverman (David) of Huntingdon Valley; great-nephews Robert Bullions, jr. of Wyoming, Michael Bullions (Danielle) of Honesdale, and Bradley Silverman of Huntingdon Valley; great-nieces Elizabeth White (Richard) of Exeter, and Mia Silverman of Huntingdon Valley and great-great nieces Aubrey and Viviana Bullions of Honesdale and Emma White of Exeter.
