Dolores Botteon, 96, of Exeter, passed away peacefully on March 16 at Tiffany Court in Kingston.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Gnall Kredlow. She attended Pittston Area High School and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church for over 50 years.
Dolores, known to many as “Dor,” was a familiar face in the hardware department at Sears and Roebuck in Wilkes-Barre, where she worked until her retirement.
At home, she could always be found with a spatula in her hand and was known for her delicious clams casino, perfect pie crusts, and her famous baked beans. She was an amazing mom and a loving wife, deeply devoted to her husband, Robert, and to her daughter, who were at the heart of her life. She loved her family and everyone around her, and found great joy in the time she spent with her grandchildren as “mom-mom” and “gram.”
In her free time, Dolores enjoyed reading and completing crossword puzzles. She often played along with her favorite game shows and was an especially competitive bingo player. She was funny, supportive, and kind, and was dearly loved by her family, friends, and those to whom she was like a mom.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ann Mullins and Joan Bell.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Cipparone and her husband, Steven, of Mullica Hill, NJ; stepchildren Barbara (Botteon) Straub and her husband, Marty, of Dallas, and Robert Botteon and his wife, Tena, of West Pittston; grandchildren Gabrielle, Christopher, and Isabella Cipparone of Mullica Hill, NJ; Celeste (Patrick) Regan of Dallas; Ashley Straub of Exeter; Matthew Straub of Swoyersville; Tony (Brittany) Botteon of Exeter; great-grandchildren Charley Regan and Julian Botteon; sister-in-law Rita (Carmen) Mauriello; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church,( Corpus Christi Parish ) 224 Memorial Street, Exeter, PA, with a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. Monsignor John Sempa will be the celebrant.
