Dominic Joseph Menta, DDS, 89, of West Wyoming passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024.
Born in Plains Twp., Keystone section, he was the son of the late Elwood and Dina Poli Menta.
Dominic was a graduate of Hughestown High School in 1952 and went on to receive his bachelor of Science degree from Concord College, Athens, West Virginia 1957 where he majored in biological science. In 1962 he received his DDS from West Virginia School of Dentistry. Upon completion of his dental studies, he entered the Navy and served as a dental officer with the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa. After completion of his military service he opened up a private dental practice in Forty Fort from 1965 until 1998.
Dominic was an avid hunter and was known as a skilled carpenter and tile mason. His friends and family will also remember him for his wonderful cooking skills.
He will always be remembered as a welcoming and generous man, always ready to lend a hand. He will also be remembered for loving fishing, donuts and decaf coffee.
Preceding him in death were his wife the former Ann Marie ( Ginger) King Menta, who passed in 2021 and a sister Marlene Jefferies.
Surviving are his daughter, Maria and her husband Scott Seeherman, Laflin, and son, Mario and his wife Caroline Torres-Menta and their son Brennan, Phoenix Arizona.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday Oct. 3 2024 at 9:30am at St. Monica's Parish, 363 W. 8th St. West Wyoming with the Rev. Peter A. Tomczak, pastor as celebrant.
Arrangements are in the care of Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
