Donald Jacobs, Sr. Obituary

Donald Michael Jacobs, Sr., 84 years old, born January 21, 1936, a lifetime resident of West Pittston, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2020 in his home surrounded by his wife of 62 years, the former Patricia Ann Shuckstes and eldest son Donald Jr.. 

Survived by his caring wife and his four children, daughter  Lisa Jacobs and her wife Nancy Gaden, Milton, Ma, son Donald Jr. and his partner Lucy Sassi, Old Forge, son Paul , Montville, NJ, and daughter Andrea Conti and her husband David, Virginia Beach, Va. He is also survived by his brother Henry Charles Jacobs, and nephew Henry Jacobs, III.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. Jacobs, Sr., Frances Yonasavage Jacobs and brother James Jacobs.

He was known as Papa, and loved so much by his 8 grandchildren, Jane Conti and her fiance' Justin Blankenship, Nicole Conti and her wife Chrissy Bowdren, DJ Conti and his wife Taylor McMurray Conti, Kristen Jacobs Hilbert and her husband Michael Hilbert, Brianna Jacobs and her wife Kaley Kennedy, Leo Jacobs, Daniel Jacobs, Ani Gaden and four great grandchildren, Jacob Hilbert, Jameson Hilbert, Gracelyn Hilbert and Avery Bowdren-Conti.

Don was a proud member of the Teamster Union and retired from the Keystone Coca Cola Bottling Company after thirty two years of service. Don loved deeply and was a man of few words relished watching football on television and was an avid sportsman-fishing and hunting throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. He was a superb tomato grower and quite a mushroom forager. He enjoyed the simple things in life, a cold beer, limburger cheese and bologna.

Services will be private.
