Ellen L. Doyle, 79, of Kingston, passed away following a brief illness Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Gardens at East Mountain, Plains Twp., with her loving family by her side.
Born February 11, 1944 in New Orleans, La and raised in Pittston, Pa., she was a daughter of the late J. Ralph and Eleanor Miller Doyle.
She was a 1961 graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston and a 1964 graduate of Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to retiring, Ellen was employed as a registered Nurse in critical care and telemetry at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by an infant brother Martin, brother Brian and daughter Susan Gamble.
Surviving are her children, Amy Lombardo and her husband Leonard, Exeter and Julie Gamble and fiancé, James Roof, Weatherly, and grandchildren Sarah and Nicholas Blackburn, Katie Lombardo, brother Donald Doyle and his wife Maureen, Scottsdale, AZ and sister Nancy Doyle, Bethlehem, nieces and nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Monday at 9:30am at St. John the Evangelist Church, William St., Pittston. The Rev. Joseph Elston, pastor, as celebrant.
The family will receive friends from 8:30am until time of mass.
Private Interment will be at Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
