Elwood Wesley Perry, Jr., 71, of Dupont, passed into eternal life on May 1, 2026 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and devotion to his family.
Elwood was a lifelong resident of West Pittston. He attended Wyoming Area School District and was a self employed truck driver for over 43 years.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Elwood W. Perry, Sr. and Dolores Rinkus of West Pittston.
Surviving are his five children, Kathleen Schuster, Pittston Twp., Candice Kocher and her husband Gene, Nanticoke, Stacy and her husband Fred White, Plains Twp., Elwood Perry,lll, of Moosic and daughter in law Paula of Covington Twp. and Robert and his wife Diana Perry, Harding, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren
Also surviving are his siblings, Lori Winiewicz, Plains, Edward ( Monica) Perry, West Pittston, Donna ( Jay) Kaminski, Harveys Lake, and Darlene Gavenonis, West Pittston.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard Winiewicz & mother of his children Kathleen Bowers.
He had a deep love for his family and friends and treasured every moment spent with them. He loved his motorcycle and driving truck, embracing the freedom it gave to him.
Elwood dedicated his life to support his family right until the very end. His sense of humor, warm heart and his ability to make others laugh will be remembered by all who knew him.
Elwood will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11am at the funeral home with the Monsignor John Sempa.
Interment with Rite of Committal will follow in West Pittston Cemetery.
