Emmit W. Coolbaugh, Sr, 81, of Harding, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.
He was the son of the late Wilbur and Mary Vandermark Coolbaugh.
Emmit was a member of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Redeemer, Harding, an avid golfer and member of Emanon Country Club for 35 years, also a former Chief of Police for Exeter Township, Harding. He worked in the trucking industry for most of his life. Emmit was a diehard NY Yankee fan.
Emmit loved being with his family most of all. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was their biggest softball, basketball, and soccer fan.
Preceding him in death was his wife Dorothy Coolbaugh, whom he was married to for 60 years, and his brothers, Wilbur, Irvin, and Abraham.
Surviving are his children, David Coolbaugh and his wife Carol, Falls; Emmit Coolbaugh, Jr. and his wife Margaret, Harding; Tammy Zielen and her husband Tony, Harding. Grandchildren: David Coolbaugh, Jr., Marisa Argenio, Katelin Coolbaugh, Sarah Coolbaugh, Ashley Keaney, Rebecca Zielen, and Emily Zielen; as well as 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are his brothers James (Alberta) Coolbaugh, and John (Florence) Coolbaugh, both of Harding and sister Margaret Coolbaugh, Exeter.
Funeral services were held from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Redeemer Church, Harding with Msgr. John Sempa as Celebrant.
Interment was in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
