Frances A. (Wightwick) Goetz

Frances Ann Goetz, 91, of West Wyoming died peacefully at her home on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Born May 5, 1933 in New Rochelle, NY, Frances was the daughter of the late Nora (Murray) and Francis Wightwick. Frances was raised in Whitestone Queens, NY and educated in the NYC area.

Frances worked for Luzerne County and the State of Pennsylvania in a variety of positions and eventually retired as a case manager for the Department of Welfare in Wilkes-Barre.

Among many of her interests, Frances was an avid golfer for many years and active in multiple golf leagues throughout the Wyoming Valley. It was during her golfing activities that Frances met many friends with whom she shared lifelong connections and many enjoyable times. 

In addition to her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband Frederick H. Goetz in 1969 and sister Jean Moorehead, Ventura, CA in 2023.

Surviving are her sons, Thomas and his wife, Sharon, Reston, VA and Neil and his husband Dr. Dennis Schank, Boyertown, PA.

There will be no formal service. A celebration of Frances' life will be held at a time and place to be determined by the family.

A donation in memory of Frances would be welcome at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or your local animal welfare group.
