Gildo was born on July 13, 1925 to the late Gentile Montavani and Giuseppe Pascucci. He attended Plains High School and was granted his high school diploma midway through his senior years after being called to serve in the U.S. Army during WW II. Upon completing basic training, Gildo performed his military duty as a tank driver through France, Germany, and Czechoslovakia.
Throughout his life, Gildo remained active and enjoyed skiing, gardening, hiking, and swimming. An avid story teller with a remarkable sense of humor, Gildo was loved by all who knew him. He cherished the time he spent with his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His utter devotion to his family and his willingness to help others defined his character.
Gildo worked as a licensed insurance agent for Metropolitan Life for over 30 years.
He is survived by his daughters : Elaine Kairis and her husband Edward, Clarks Summit; Ann James and her husband Dr. Russell ( Skip) , Dallas, grandchildren: Lyndsey MacNair and her husband Scott; Seth Koches and his wife, Aubrey; Joshua Bowman, Taylor Bowman, great grandchildren Grace and Corinne MacNair, and Enzo Koches, sisters- in – law Rina Stella and Antoinette Pascucci, brother- in- law, Rinaldo Ercolani, and many nieces and nephews.
Gildo was preceded in death by his brother Robert Pascucci.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at the Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Care Facility of Mercy Center, Dallas, Pa. The kindness, patience, respect and remarkable level of care will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday October 13, at 9am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 9:30am at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, 13 Hudson Rd., Plains. The Rev. John Lambert, pastor will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Carverton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105
