Irene S. Hetro, 97, a lifelong resident of Exeter, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024 at the Highland Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Exeter.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Michalina Kiluk Sulkowski.
Irene was a member of Corpus Christi Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter,.
After her marriange to Michael Hetro who passed away in 1982, she had worked at various manufacturing companies including Topp Chewing Gum Co from 1970 until the 1990's.
She resided in the Exeter Senior Center for 23 years and the past 5 years was a resident of Highland Manor.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph and Henry Sulkowski and sisters Jeanette (Steve) Hudock, and Victoria ( Everett) Agurkis.
Surviving are her sons Michael and his wife Alberta Hetro, Pittston, David and his wife Laurie, Datona Beach, Fl, John and his wife Beverly, Pittston and Robert and his wife Debbie, Exeter, along with 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday from 9-10am at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave. Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30am at Corpus Christi Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 224 Memorial St., Exeter.
Interment with Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
Arrangements are in the care of Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
