James O'Keefe Obituary

James O'Keefe, 67, of Exeter, passed away at home after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. He died peacefully in the arms of his wife and surrounded by loving family and friends.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late William and Lois (Kittle) O'Keefe.

He was a graduate of Lake Lehman High School class of 1972. Jim owned and operated a Dry Wall business for many years both in Texas and PA. He was recognized as the best in his trade. He could be heard saying he would dry wall a tree if that’s what you wanted!

Jim was an avid fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams (Steelers/Pirates/Penquins), as well as the Boston Celtics. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1207, West Pittston. Jim also took pride in helping The West Pittston American Legion 1st Lt. Jeffrey F. DePrimo Post 542 with events in support of our Veterans.

As friends and family will attest to, Jim was no procrastinator and would do anything for anyone that asked. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch with his wife and visiting with anyone that dropped by. Jim treasured regular Sunday morning visits with his Aunt and Godmother, Mary Lou Musto.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Camille (Ascani), two brothers, Brian (Stephanie) O’Keefe, Mooretown, and Mark O'Keefe, Cincinnati, OH, his sister in law, Theresa (John) Ridley, and loving nieces, Lisa Hill, Janine (Charles) Dzanko, and Theresa Mary Ridley, as well as his great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Skylynn and Dillon O’Keefe. Jim was preceded in death by his son Sean Kyle in 2018.

The family is especially thankful to the Geisinger Oncology and Residential Hospice and friends, too numerous to mention by name, for their care and compassion.

Visitation and interment will be private.
