Jessica Marie Roxby

It is with great sadness after a courageous battle with leukemia, the family of Jessica Marie Roxby announces her passing on Friday July 2, 2021 at her home in Pittston. Jessica was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 25, 1998, the daughter of John and Kimberly Height Roxby, Pittston.

Jessica was a 2020 graduate of Pittston Area High School and Wilkes University's upward bound program in May of 2016 which prepares high school students for college. She graduated with a degree in secondary education and worked as an 8th grade math teacher for the Casa Grande Middle School, Casa Grande, Arizona shortly before her diagnosis.

All that knew her loved her. Jessica was the most kind hearted, selfless, beautiful person. Her smile lit up a room along with her personality. She has always persevered and excelled in all of her accomplishments.

Before starting her dream job, Jessica could be found working at Gerrity's in West Pittston. Her drive to work hard never went unnoticed. Prior to Gerrity's she could be found working at K Mart in Pittston before they closed .She was a lover of all things. Most specifically she loved penguins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Elmer W. Roxby and maternal grandfather Fred Caufield.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are Jessica's 3 siblings, , 3 nieces, and 5 nephews who were so proud of her accomplishments in life. A brother, Andrew Roxby, his children, Hailey, Sean and Lucas, Jessica's sister Nichole Brown (Charles) and her children Gracie, Austin and Nora. and a brother James Roxby ( Allie) and his children Hunter, and Chase.

Also surviving are her grandparents, Elizabeth Roxby, Pittston and Agnes Height ( Gary), Pulaski, NY and Gary Height ( Nancy) Bridgeport, NY along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday from 5-7pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Prayer service will begin at 7pm with the Rev. Joseph Rafferty.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Jessicas friends and family for endless support and encouragement. A special thank you to all of her medical care team at Banner MD Anderson, Gilbert Arizona and Fox Chase Cancer Center, Phila. and Residential Hospice.

There is no doubt she is a warrior.
