John Fumanti

John Fumanti, 70, of West Wyoming passed away on Friday March 22, 2024 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., with his loving family by his side.

Born in Hilldale section of Plains Twp., he was the son of Blanche Peloso Fumanti and the late Anthony Fumanti.

John was a 1972 graduate of Wyoming Area School District and went on to graduate from Penn College with a civil engineering degree.

He was employed by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 5 Engineering Division.

John was a standout linebacker and tight end and cultivated high school friendships that endured forever. He was a lover of music as well as an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, much to the dismay of his wife. John was very proud of his Italian heritage which showed in every aspect of his life.

Surviving are in addition to his mother Blanche are his wife of 38 years the former Gloria Musto, his daughter Dana and her partner Jason Weiss, Wyoming, a brother Frank and his wife Patricia Fumanti, Pittston and a sister Carol and her husband Frank Arcuri, Croton, NY, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday from 9am -11am at St. Anthony of Padua Church ( St. Barbara Parish), 224 Memorial Street, Exeter.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11am with the Monsignor John Sempa as celebrant.

Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton section of Kingston Twp.

Arrangements are in the care of Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
