Joseph Bekanich

Joseph Bekanich, 64, of Exeter, passed away on Friday November 22, 2024 unexpectedly at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of  Theresa Shandra Bekanich, Exeter and the late Frank ( Sam) Bekanich.

Joseph was a 1978 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and went on to earn his business degree from Luzerne County Community College.

He was a self employed entrepeneur and invented many devices and gadgets.

Preceding him in death in addition to his father Frank was a brother Alec Bekanich.

Surviving are his mother, Theresa, son Joseph Bekanich and Caitlyn Shiner, of Kingston, a nephew Tyler and niece Haleigh Bekanich of Mountaintop also his best friend and partner Karolina and one of his best friends, Ania Walton.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday December 4, 2024 from 11am until 1pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

The Reverend Andrii Dumnych, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston, will begin panachida services at 1pm at the funeral home.
