Joseph Salerno Obituary

Joseph L. Salerno, 83, of Exeter, passed into eternal life on Monday December 29, 2025 at his home.

Born in Bridgeport, Ct., he was the son of the late Vito and Anna Mihalko Salerno.

Mr. Salerno was a 1960 graduate of Exeter High School and went on to study at Wilkes College earning an Associate Degree.

Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a systems analyst for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

Joseph was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church ( Corpus Christi Parish) and after his schooling he went on to serve his country in the United States Army earning the rank of  Corporal. He was a member of the American Legion Duryea Post . 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the former, Clare M. Brennan in 2024 and sisters Patricia Kolesar and Carol Davis.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday from 10-11am at St. Anthony of Padua Church ( Corpus Christi Parish), 224 Memorial St., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11am .

Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Duryea Post 585 after the Mass at the church.

Interment with Rite of Committal will be in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton .
