Josephine Frances ( Polak) Del Priore, 102, of the Village at Greenbriar, Dallas, passed away peacefully Sunday May 28, 2023 at the Meadows Nursing Center.
Born in Plymouth on March 10. 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna ( Godek) Polak. She was a 1938 graduate of Plymouth High School; a World War
II machinist at the Cadillac Motor Company in Detroit; and co-owner , along with her husband Jimmy, of Grico's Restaurant, Exeter. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church ( St. Barbara Parish), Exeter and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed Madame Curie, the Polish Union, casino bus trips, and traveling extensively. Josephine always had a smile and a story to share with everyone. Reading, sewing, and pinochle were her daily interests, but her real passion was Bingo. In Bingo her skills were legendary; twelve cards at a time was standard; "calling Bingo" was always done casually.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband James, infant daughter, Susanna, and siblings Mary Arsavage, John Polak, Louise Terescavage, Ann Pericci, and Raymond Polak.
Surviving are her children, Ann Elizabeth Stelevich of Katy, Texas, Josette Hochman and her husband Jere, St. Louis, Mo., Janet Siegel and her husband Paul, Dallas, Ralph Del Priore and his wife Carla, Dallas, and Jamie Lucia Del Priore, California; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Miko ( John), Texas, Benjamin Hochman ( Angela) St. Louis; Emily Hochman ( Justin Sommer) Chicago; James Adam Del Priore, Philadelphia; and Isabella Del Priore, New York City; loving great -grandchildren, Veronica and Giselle Miko, Texas, Olsen Marceline Hochman, St. Louis; brother in law Dr. Ralph Del Priore of New Jersey, sisters -in -law, Helen Del Priore and Bernadine Polak and extended family members including many devoted nieces and nephews.
Josephine was a kind and gentle woman who adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will b e sadly missed. " Bye for now".
