Marian Pizano Obituary

Marian C. Pizano, 102, of Exeter, passed away peacefully on Monday September 11th, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Warrior Run, on May 9th, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Dombrowski Pazanski.

Marian was a member of St. Barbara Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Peter A. Pizano, and siblings, Eleanor Markowsky, Stanley (Tex) Pazanski, Phyllis Klimek, Sophie Dente, Franciszek Parzynski and Stella Mazanowski.

Surviving are her children: Evelyn Pizano, Exeter, Patricia Richards, Sayre, Faustine (Queenie) Armillei, Plains, and Thomas and his wife Naomi Pizano, Exeter. Her grandchildren: Robert Armillei, Elizabeth and her husband Jeff Ellis, Jessica Pizano and her husband Erik Vanston, and Melissa Pizano and her husband Al Dragg. Her great grandchildren: Sophia and Asher Ellis, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Family was everything to Marian. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm in Exeter, doing bookwork as well. She was a woman of many talents and had a strong work ethic. She cleaned and cooked everyday. Everyone was welcome at her table and no one went away hungry. She was a mentor and support for her children, grandchildren, and great grand children, most of whom she saw on a daily basis.

Although, her final illness diminished her physically, she still had an intrepid spirit. She worked in her way to the best of her ability. Her mind was as sharp as ever. To the end, she was very devout and watched the Mass daily without fail. She had a special affection for the Holy Family. Her death at 102 leaves a great gap in her community of family and friends, but also left an enduring legacy of life of giving and service.

Marian’s children would like to thank the people who helped Evelyn and Patty, her daughters, make their mother comfortable. All efforts were greatly appreciated: Dr. Andrew Stuka, Barbara Soyka, family friend, and Denise and Joyce, her aides.
