Martin P. Michaels, Jr., 85, of West Wyoming, passed away on Sunday August 11, 2024 at the Highland Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Exeter.
Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Martin P., Sr, and Anna Viola Kalinoski.
Martin was a graduate of West Wyoming High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He also served for 67 years as a member of the West Wyoming Hose Co. No. 1 , Fire and EMS. He volunteered as a coach for the West Wyoming Little League. As a diehard sports fan he enthusiastically rooted for his Yankees.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife the former Nancy Keesler in 2016 . a grandson, Eric Pawloski and a brother in law Raymond Turkson.
Surviving are his sons Martin Michaels III and his wife Lori, Wyoming, Mark Michaels, and a daughter Nadine and her husband Barry Pawloski, West Wyoming, grandchildren, Barry and Shawn Pawloski, Martin Michaels, IV and his wife Jessica, Melissa Michaels, Michael Langdon, David Langdon Justin ( Katie) Langdon, along with 3 great grandchildren, Aria, Matthew and William.
Also surviving are his sisters Barbara ( Gary) Marchesini, Memphis, TN, and Marion Turkson, Miami, Florida, and a sister in law Ann Barni. Exeter and numerous nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday from 5-7pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC., 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral will be on Thursday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am at St. Monica's Parish, 363 W. 8th St., West Wyoming, Pa. with the Rev. Peter Tomczak, pastor as celebrant.
The family asks that memorial donations, if desired, be made to the West Wyoming Hose Co. No. 1.
