Pauline Jeffery, 87, formerly of Exeter, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2023, at the Meadows Manor Nursing Home, Dallas, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Pauline was the daughter of the late Albert and MaryPolanski Gai.
Pauline is predeceased by her husband Thomas Jeffery and 11 of her siblings, most recently brother Alex Gai of Fairless Hills, PA and Isabelle DeLuca of West Pittston.
Pauline is survived by her sons Thomas (wife Susan) of Hawley, PA; and Joseph of Falls Church, VA and her dear sister Corinne Gai with whom she resided with for the past four years. Pauline is also survived by her two granddaughters, Emily Hess (husband Derek) and Kelly Frey (partner Adam Jones), one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Pauline graduated from West Pittston High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Philadelphia before moving home to Exeter where she then worked as a seamstress at Star Stitching for many years. She was dedicated to her church, St. Anthony of Padua Church of St. Barbara Parish, and volunteered in many different capacities. Pauline’s greatest love along with her family was her gardening, her flowers and vegetable garden were her pride and joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday from 9:00-10:45am at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church. 224 Memorial St., Exeter with the Rev. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J. as celebrant.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton.
The family is most grateful to the Meadows Manor staff and Allied Services Hospice Care for their care and compassion.
