Rena M. (Wardel) Hurrey

Rena Marie Wardell Hurrey (54) of Exeter joined her father and sister in eternal life with the Lord on September 4, 2022 after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer.

Born on July 7, 1968 in Kingston to Jane Conti Lemardy and the late Clyde Wardell.

Rena was an LPN who specialized in home health care for many years. She was also a devoted believer in Jesus Christ. She would attend many gatherings such as Bible studies to further her relationship with God and her connections with many other believers who attended. Throughout her battle with cancer she would regularly attended programs offered through Candy’s Place in Forty Fort. During this she met her other family, her Braveheart warrior sisters.
Anyone who came in contact with her experienced her powerful presence, with an illuminating light that lit up any room she was in. Her proudest accomplishment and source of joy came from her family, especially her kids and grandkids.

Rena has joined her father, Clyde Wardell, and sister, Linda Femea in heaven.

Surviving is her mother, Jane Conti Lemardy and Rena's husband, Elmer S. Hurrey. Her two siblings, Clyde Wardell II and Laura Hurrey. Her children; Tara Lasky, Antoinette Peters, Angela Lasky, Billie Jo Lasky, Reid Hurrey, Emily Hurrey, Erin Hurrey, and Maggie Hurrey. Her grandchildren Athena Gage, Nathan Bauer, Gianna Notz, Madison Stanlick, Austin Peters, Matthew Lasky, and Aubrey Peters.

Relatives and friends are invited to share memories and condolences with the family on Monday from 5-7pm at  the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made at the funeral home to assist the family with ongoing expenses .
