William F. Luvender, 75, of Tunkhannock, passed into eternal life on Saturday January 3, 2026 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late William R. and Stella Novobilski Luvender.
William was a 1968 graduate of Pittston Area High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Wilkes University.
He had been employed by the Pa. Department of Agriculture as a food inspector and was very proud to work for the Pa. Dept. of Agriculture. He was an
avid reader who held a deep appreciation of local history, state and national parks and creating; whether that was making maple syrup, kielasa, copper
jewelry or Polish Christmas cookies. He loved to both watch and coach sports and spent years participating in scouting with his children.
During his retirement years, he traveled with his wife and enjoyed annual family vacations to Cape May. He loved spending time with his grandchildren
and was an especially good joke teller. Warm and personable, he always had a story to share.
Above all else, Will was dedicated to his family. He was straight-forward, hard-working, and supportive. A no-nonsense kind of guy, he led by quiet
example. He loved his wife Suzanne, the home and family they created together, and encouraged his children in everything. The type of man you
could count on, he was strong, confident and well- respected.
A man of integrity and kindness, he stood up for what was right and rooted for the underdog. He valued tradition and never forgot where he came from.
